Casa Andina Hotel

Peru > The Southern Coast > Hotels > Casa Andina Hotel

Description
Part of the Peruvian ‘Casa Andina’ hotel collection, this hotel is a comfortable, pristine, calm place to stay while visiting the Nazca Lines, for reasonable prices. Located in the town of Nazca, on a main street lined with restaurants, only two blocks from the Plaza de Armas, this hotel was built in 2004 so all the accommodations are relatively new and impeccable. The place is designed in traditional coastal architecture, with white walls, simple and spacious designs.

A lounge area includes a computer with internet access and a souvenir shop. Mate de coca is available here for guests throughout the day. A good-sized pool with terrace is ideal for lounging and getting a break from the desert heat. Parking is available to guests.

Insider Tips
Across street, the Boulevard Plaza Café and Bar serves snacks and drinks, if you want a safe and convenient place to go out. A Globalnet ATM machine is available on premise.

Benefits
- Located right in the town of Nazca so you won’t need a transfer to the hotel but could easily find your way if arriving by bus
-The hotel organizes tours to the area including the San Fernando reserve.

Drawbacks
- Centrally located, rather than secluded, so it may not be the place to go to spend a couple of leisurely days
- this belongs to a chain of hotels, and is not an independent hotel, though they are small enough to still provide personal attention

Rooms
Each of the hotel’s 60 rooms are brightly decorated, have air conditioning, cable TV, hot water and some toiletries in the very clean bathrooms. Laundry service is available. Singles (US$64), doubles (US$75) and triples (US$97). Quadruples can be put together on request. Prices include service tax and breakfast. A ‘superior queen’ suite (US$86) has a bath (instead of a shower), hair dryer in the large bathroom, mini bar and a small living area at the front.

Food
The Waykuna Andean Restaurant, a well-lit restaurant by the backyard pool, serves buffet breakfast of eggs, ham and cheese, juices, yogurt and breads. Lunch isn’t served all year round, only during high season but you will be nearby other dining option in town. Dinner is served year round.
