Sadly, due to the August earthquake in Peru, many of the accommodations in this area suffered severe damages. The hotels listed below remain in good condition and are open to travelers. Please help to support this region by fulfilling your travel plans to the area.

The options for visiting the Reserve of Paracas and Ballestas Islands are somewhat limited.  You can choose to stay in Pisco, a nearby town about 15 kms away, with some accomodations catering to the backpacker crowd and little attraction to the town itself.  Since you will likely only be spending one night to do the tour of the surrounding area, we recommend staying closer to the Reserve.  In addition to the two options listed below, you will find the Hotel El Condor at the end of the strip of beach homes, with US$60 rooms.  Though peaceful and right by a beach, with a small pool, this place is completely out of the way.  This is not recommended for exploring Paracas, but ok for spending a couple of quiet days.

Nazca has a greater variety of options for independent travelers.  The popularity of the Nazca Lines means this area has been a tourist destination for a long time and these days you can find some reputable small chains and established hotels in or nearby the town.

I want to stay at boutique-style hotels and guesthouses that are unique, just not quite at 4 star prices.
