Munay Tika Ollantaytambo

Peru > The Sacred Valley > Hotels > Munay Tika Ollantaytambo

Description
This hotel is run by a couple from Ollantaytambo, Asencios & Julia Flores. Julia is a medicine woman known throughout the valley for her mystical healing treatments. Although these treatments are not specifically offered at the hotel, she will happily make arrangements for you (although she does not speak much English). She also teaches internationally. Munay Tika (sacred flower) is a basic but adequate hotel for spending a night before or after your trip to Machu Picchu. With 29 rooms it is popular with the tour groups. Rooms are set back in a couple of buildings that surround a garden area as well as a central outdoor courtyard where breakfast is served.

Insider Tips
Although the owners don’t speak English, they have people on staff who do. The Flores’ also own Munay Tika Rumira, a retreat in the town of Rumira where they have built their home.
