Description
The name of this lunch-only seafood restaurant plays on the similarity of the word for fish (‘pescado’) to the word for sin (‘pecado’). ‘Pecados capitales’ then means ‘capital sins’. This pun is reflected in the menu with dishes that are named after the seven capital sins.
The ambiance is laid-back and rustic, and the décor basic, with white walls and wooden tables that make you feel like you’re dining by the ocean. This is a great place to sample tiraditos, ceviches, causas and other seafood classics. You would drive right by this restaurant unless pointed to it. But be sure to stop by! The food is prepared with lots of love and high quality ingredients. This has become a local favorite so you may need to line up if you get there after 1.30pm. Prices are very reasonable: Ceviche 30 soles, pisco sour 15 soles and beer 7 soles. You will get a basket of warm ‘cancha serrana’, or toasted corn, that is a mandatory custom at cevicherias when you sit down at your table.
