Description
Kusikuy, located in an old colonial house on Plateros street, opened in 1989 in response to the growing tourist demand for a nice place to try local food. Kusikuy means 'happiness or cheer up'. Kusikuy offers traditional dishes such as 'roasted guinea pig' (40 soles), grilled alpaca (21 soles), fried trout in garlic sauce (21 soles) and the original 'chiriuchu' - a cold dish with boiled assorted meat, corn, trout roe, cheese, onion and dried seaweed, typically served during the feast of Corpus Christi in June.

In addition, they serve a delicious combination including an entree, a bowl of soup, a main dish and a cold drink for 10 soles.

Insider Tips
Kusikuy's personalized service and varied menu have been recognized with 'best typical cusqueño food' awards for several years.
