Cafe La Luna

Guatemala > Quetzaltenango > Restaurants > Cafe La Luna

Description
This cozy old colonial house is a great place for a mid-day coffee, snack or chocolate indulgence. Each room is quaintly decorated with antique items, including the owner's old family photos and other nostalgia. One room houses a coat rack with an old purse, a pair of shoes and a man's hat to give the feeling you have just walked into someone's home. Tables are covered with old local newsprint for your entertainment. The courtyard is equally pleasant with antique lanterns hanging from the wall. A non-smoking section is available for those who prefer. Chocolate is the specialty here, whether in their cakes or their hot drinks. All snacks and coffees are under Q25.

Insider Tips
There is live music on weekends (Sat/Sun starting at 7PM), as well as a wine bar called Bajo La Luna, which is literally under La Luna and open Tues - Fri 8:00pm - 2:00am. Try the daily specials that are fixed from week-to-week - they are generally very tasty local delicacies.
Bajo La Luna is closed until December for renovations.
