Description
Straight from the pages of an interior-decorating magazine, Casa Palopo is indeed sleek providing a boutique-hotel feel with intriguing views. The entrance is up a steep hill beyond the small indigenous town of Santa Catarina Palopó. The reception area leads through to the Casa's incredible terrace which has been remarkably decorated with a Mediterranean feel. Curl up with a drink and a book in their modern lounge chairs and enjoy the view of the lake and surrounding volcanoes. Head down the stairs to the attractive library with a collection that will keep you entertained throughout your stay. Inside is a rustic bar area stylishly decorated with silver tea-sets, funky artwork and an old jukebox. The bar leads in to a cozy seating area with big, comfortable couches and chairs, and a great, current magazine selection. In the back is a small pool with a very quiet sundeck and also a small gym in the adjacent building with a few pieces of older equipment. Although the hotel is located up the hill, across the street from the waterfront, Casa Palopó has private beach access that you can walk down to. Spa services are also available upon request. An internet terminal sits at the front desk.
