Description
Known by locals and tourists alike for its excellent, reasonably priced meals and delicious home baked goods - just follow the smell of fresh bread. Doņa Luisa is set in an old colonial building with tables spread throughout various rooms as well as the central courtyard and along the railing of the second floor terrace. The restaurant is named after the Indian Princess, Luisa Xicotencatl, who was the mistress of the Spanish conqueror Alvarado. Doņa Luisa lived and died in this house while raising Alvarado's child. Nonetheless, it is a lovely setting for a casual lunch or dinner. The menu includes soups, salads and sandwiches as well as heart-healthy options. Salads and Sandwiches Q25 - 30.
Insider Tips
The club sandwich makes a great meal. Don't forget to pick up some of their fresh-baked goods on the way out. Service can be a bit slow at times so make sure you are not in a rush. Also, buy a loaf of banana or chocolate orange bread at the shop downstairs.
