Description
On a quiet street, just a block from the beach, you’ll find a genuine, Austro-Hungarian restaurant. Reinhard, the friendly owner, will greet you while his wife, Maria Alice, prepares delicious home-style food. The portions are large and the prices reasonable. You’ll enjoy dishes like goulash and pork chop with Dijon mustard sauce (mustard prepare by Reinhard himself) in a homey atmosphere with old movie posters and simple tableclothes. There are a few tables on the sidewalk out front. While the menu offers plenty of sausage and meat-based dishes, there is a page of vegetarian and quasi-vegetarian versions. Appetizers (R$5-R$17) include cottage cheese with paprika, homemade sauerkraut and tsatziki. Main dishes cost around R$30 for two people. Desserts (R$5-R$9) include German chocolate cake and brandy cake.
Insider Tips
Most of the portions are for two, though there are options for one person. Because the dishes are prepared to order, this is not a good option for a quick meal.
