Description
This enormous old colonial building is one of the nicest in the area. Owned for over 15 years by Fernanda and Nino, an Italian brother and sister duo. Beyond the rather modest exterior lies an exquisitely renovated pousada with lofty ceilings and local artwork, much of which is the talent of Fernanda. There is plenty of common area where guests can comfortably lounge if the cozy couches in their rooms become too confining. This is also home to two dogs who will happily guard you or keep you company.

Every June the pousada is shut down for an overhaul including new paint and necessary repairs, which is the secret to its success.

Benefits
- This pousada is located just outside the heart of Pelourinho in a lovely neighborhood called Santo Antônio, which is lined with beautiful colonial facades, many of which have been gutted or destroyed.

Drawbacks
- Despite its proximity to Pelourinho's center, the surrounding area can be a bit dodgy after dark and may make for an uncomfortable walk home at the end of the evening. You may want to consider taking a taxi this short distance to avoid any danger.

Rooms
There are 12 well-kept units that vary in size, each as appealing as the common areas and front lobby. The standard rooms include a decent bed, comfy loveseat as well as a desk and chair. These rooms are spacious, as are the adjoining bathrooms, whose major fault is a lack of shower curtain and separate shower space. Most rooms are not equipped with A/C, but rather take advantage of the cross-drafts with the aid of vents so you can live au-natural. There are a few rooms that do have A/C, but they are lacking in significant air circulation and are not the best choice. Luxury rooms have enormous bathrooms as well as great decks with lounge chairs and #5 has a wonderful view of the bay. There is plenty of sitting room with two couches and a small lounge. Food
Breakfast is served on the terrace and is plenty to keep you going for the day. Homemade breads and fresh squeezed juices are featured.
