Description
For a long time the most eccentric choice on the block, it is now also one of the best. Redfish moved to its new digs in 2004 providing more space and even more to love about this colourful pousada. The pousada is run by Charles, and Englishman, and his Brazilian wife, Helena. Charles' artwork is a tasteful contrast to the usual Bahian prints and it adorns the walls of the pousada. Ample, spacious lounges are welcoming to guests, as is the picturesque courtyard and patio. Internet access is available to guests as is laundry service.
Benefits
- The owner can provide great tips on local hangouts and excursions.
- This pousada is located just outside of the heart of Pelourinho in a lovely neighborhood called Santo Antônio, which is lined with beautiful colonial facades, many of which have been gutted and refurbished.
Drawbacks
Despite its proximity to Pelourinho's center, the surrounding area can be a bit dodgy after dark and may make for an uncomfortable walk home at the end of the evening. You may want to consider taking a taxi this short distance to avoid any danger.
Rooms
The rooms are enormous and interestingly decorated in fish motif. All rooms are clean and modern and come equipped with A/C, minibar, safe, and telephone. There are six standard rooms and two luxury rooms on the top floor that have lovely, spacious terraces and American king-sized beds. Standard R$240; Luxury R$300.
Food
A huge breakfast of homemade goods and fresh fruit is served each morning in the courtyard.
