Description
It is the rare person who isn’t scared by the idea of running and jumping off a mountaintop but it is truly worth overcoming the jitters (and shelling out the dough) for the incomparable thrill and beauty of a tandem hang glide off Pedra Bonita (525 meters). You’ll drift high above the treetops of the Tijuca National Forest and then glide down to land on Praia (beach) do Pepino in São Conrado.

Tour 1: Hang Gliding Experience
The hang gliding experience lasts 10-30 minutes (figure on around three hours from start to finish, including transportation). And hey, if you don’t enjoy it at least you’ll appreciate being on terra firma--and being alive-- even more than before!

Fernando Mattoso is an honest, experienced, trustworthy guide for both hang gliding and eco-tourism. Fernando has been hang gliding since 1978 and is licensed by the Brazilian Hang Gliding Association. He is also a registered EMBRATUR eco-guide and will tell you (in English) about the landscape and attractions—both natural and manmade—that you’re flying over.

In the case of unfavorable weather Fernando will contact you ahead of time and reschedule the flight.
