Description
This cigar bar / restaurant is a casual but classy place for lunch or happy hour snacks. It’s named after Edgar Esch who opened the cafe in 1994 to appease the Carioca's love of cigars. After outgrowing his shopping mall space, he moved downtown and eventually opened this popular Leblon spot where the waiters dress like Don Juan with their brimmed hats and safari outfits. Happy hours bring live jazz music and a sophisticated crowd enjoying brandy and cigars at the beautiful bar. There is a walk-in humidor at the entrance where cigars and paraphernalia can be purchased. The menu has an Italian - Cuban theme and is on the pricier side with pastas R$25 - 49 and seafood and meats R$31 - 39. For happy hour you might want to try the calzones or the smoked meats dish.
