Description
This suites hotel is an excellent option for those who are staying a while and want to have the flexibility of not eating out every meal. Located in Arpoador, which is the mid-point between Ipanema and Copacabana. You can get to either neighborhood with a short walk. Staff is friendly, helpful, and English speaking. On the ground floor there is a small gym with a treadmill and a bike, but who needs those when you have miles of beach to run and an outdoor exercise facility right down the street at the tip of Arpoador? There is also a true lap pool which is exactly two lanes of straight pool. It is definitely 1.3 meters deep, but the staff is conflicted as to whether it is 23 or 24 meters long.

Benefits
- This is a great deal if you are in Rio for a longer stay or are traveling with children and/or like to have cooking facilities.

Drawbacks
- None of the rooms have particularly stellar views, nor is the hotel on the beach.
- Be careful in this area after dusk as tourists have reported thefts in the past.
- This hotel is listed in the Lonely Planet guide, which could make arranging reservations difficult during peak travel times.

Rooms
All 46 rooms have a similar layout, size and clean style with hardwood floors, modern furnishings and small balconies. Each has a decent, fully-equipped, open kitchen including gas stovetop and microwave as well as a minibar. There is a small living room with a white leather (or is it vinyl?) sofabed and cable TV as well as a desk attached to the wall with Internet access if you have a laptop. The tiled bathrooms are small but clean and come with hairdryers, soap and shampoo. In the back are the bedrooms which are clean, plain and small, but modern with comfy beds, a second TV, a full-length mirror and a frosted glass armoire.
Rates: Price varies according to number of occupants. Singles cost $339 during the week and R$285 on weekends. Rates do not include breakfast or a 5% tax.

Food
There is a very appetizing buffet breakfast with lots of fruit, breads, cereals etc. served in the restaurant area on the ground floor near the pool (not included in room price) for R$16 per person (or R$18 for room service). The restaurant, with its basic décor, also offers a basic menu for lunch and dinner and room service is available.

Children
This is a good option if you are traveling with children as it allows for a bit more space. Children under 7 stay free.
