Description
Well-located only a block from Ipanema Beach, this hotel is in the class of extremely comfortable, although not extravagant. The lobby is modern and the staff is extremely professional and most of them speak English. There is a rooftop pool with outstanding views as well as a fitness center and saunas. There is also a business center available 24 hours a day with Internet.

- Although this hotel is modern and clean, it is lacking in some of the personal touches and details that might make it more of a special visit.
- This hotel is listed in the Fodor’s, Frommer’s, and Lonely Planet guides, which could make arranging reservations difficult during peak travel times.
Rooms
Rooms are very nice and comfortable providing ample space with a great chair to lounge on. There are 135 rooms in total, all with tiled floors, silent A/C, minibar, cable TV and safe. Bathrooms are a decent size including all of the expected amenities as well as a bathtub/shower.
Rates: US$175-300. Does not include 5% city tax or US$1.50 daily fee.
Food
Breakfast is included and is served at Opium, the adjoining restaurant. Its outdoor patio provides a perfect spot to sit and watch Cariocas making their way to the beach in the morning. The restaurant, opened in early 2008, is open for lunch and dinner as well and serves Asian fusion food.
