Flake out at the beach
There are four main beaches, each with its own character. The first is fairly small and has a few shops and restaurants but the second is where the action takes place. Sports during the day, parties at night. The third beach is quieter, with several pousadas for those who want to be close to the action, but not in the middle of it. The fourth is a long, mostly deserted stretch of beach. Thanks to the horseback riding that takes place on this beach, it is not the most pleasant for walking...

Sunset at the lighthouse
On the point of the island just past the Fort is the lighthouse, which offers spectacular views around the island. The dirt path up there can be tough to negotiate, especially on the way down, so if you don't have a flashlight, don't linger.

Take a daytrip to Boipeba
Boipeba is the small island just south of Tinharé. Much less developed, this idyllic paradise is mainly white sandy beach lined with palm trees. You don't come here for the activity or nightlife but for the sole purpose of kicking back in a hammock and relaxing. There are several travel agencies in town that will all be able to set you up with a boat ride to the island for the day.

Catch the surf
Morro is one of the best places to surf in Bahia. June - September is the best time to surf on the island. Try the first and fourth beaches. Note: there is only one surf shop on the island and supplies can be pricey so try to bring as much with you as you'll need.
