Argentina Salta Travel Tours trip patagonia salta argentina
Artisan handicrafts are still very much a part of the local culture. Loom art uses Lama and Sheep’s wool to create colourful blankets, tapestries, ponchos and more. Ceramics are also widely found, primarily from Cachi and Cafayate, influenced by the aboriginals’ work. Items made from leather and silver are quite popular, representing the gaucho culture of the North.
Most of the stores in Salta are open from 9:30am - 1:00pm. "Siesta" time is sacred in the north of Argentina.
