Description
A walk through the a city's central market is always a good way to get to know a culture. This large indoor market place dates back to 1883 and displays both the Italian and Spanish influence of the country. Meats, pastas and other Italian specialties such as La Milanesa can be bought here to prepare elsewhere. Pastries, sweets and local wines can be purchased... there is even a health food section with dried fruits and spices. There are also booths where you can order local prepared specialties, including a parilla, to eat at the tables set out in the center.
