Francis Mallmann 1884

Argentina > Mendoza > Restaurants > Francis Mallmann 1884

Description
Francis Mallmann 1884, located in the historic Bodega Escorihuela winery, is considered to be the most posh establishment in Mendoza. The name 1884 indicates the year that the Bodega was founded. Chef Francis Mallman’s signature restaurant has consistently been rated among the country’s best restaurants. The restaurant is a joint venture between Mallmann and Nicolas Catena (a prominant figure in the Argentine winemaking community). Mallmann, originally from Bariloche, but who studied amongst top chefs throughout Europe, features his 'Nuevo Andean' cuisine using Argentine ingredients to produce some of the best plates in South America. Boasting a wine list over 50 pages long, and a menu that changes every two weeks, a meal at 1884 is an activity in itself. Main courses A$30 – 60.
