Description
This restaurant, aptly named after the spice Saffron, is beautifully decorated with a 'country' feel. The jars of spices and dried cornhusks on the wall help to create the warm and comforting ambiance. There is an equally enticing outdoor patio that can be enjoyed on warm evenings. Azafran has an extensive wine cellar with over 450 labels from 80 different vineyards and they encourage you to take a look by not printing a wine list. If you've been to the vineyards and bought a special bottle, you can open it and decant it here. Corkage is A$5 at dinner and A$2.50 any time before. Mains A$15 - 22; lunch menu A$23. Caters to locals and tourists alike, but plenty of English is spoken.
Insider Tips
There are better steaks to be had in Argentina, but the baked salad is unique served in an elegant bread bowl.
