Description
Located in the heart of San Telmo, Petanque brings a French spirit to the area. This is one of the most recommended restaurants in town, owned by the former chef of the famous restaurant Pastis in New York, who came to Buenos Aires through a love story with an Argentine girl. So Petanque has a romantic feel, but also accomadates large and lively gatherings. It has an elegant yet laid back atmosphere, no French stiffness here. You can quickly notice the combination of Argentine Passion in the service and general spirit of the place, and the brilliant French gourmet style in the menu and wine list. Their specials are Rabbit on mustard A$22 and Grilled Salmon with vegetables A$25.
Insider Tips
Petanque is a large restaurant with a separate non-smoking area. Thursdays and Fridays it’s noisy, lively and very casual considering the setting. If you enjoy a good beer over wine, they have several varieties from all over the world.
