Description
The glamorous sister of the Ateneo bookstore on Florida street which was founded in 1912. Feel free to grab a book from the shelves and enjoy a light meal or coffee at the café. This location was renovated from what was once the Grand Splendid cinema (1919). The grandiose decor has been maintained with a large theatre stage in the back of the store where a cafe is now situated. Looking up you will see a gigantic mural painted by Nazareno in its original form. La Imprenta (the cafe) has comfy couches where you can relax with a book from the shelves and enjoy something from the light menu of sandwiches, salads and pastries. The balconies have been replaced with shelves of books.

Don’t expect to find the next great novel for your travels here. The reading collection does contain some English books, but they are the same trashy novels and mysteries that can be found throughout the city.
