Dining in Buenos Aires is a carnivore’s dream. The low value of the Peso makes eating like a king a daily possibility. Long known for having some of the best steaks in the world, it would be a shame to miss a traditional Parrilla where you can try an assortment of cuts and flavors. More recently Buenos Aires has experienced the emergence of Latin-fusion cuisine and hip, sophisticated restaurant options as well as a growing taste for sushi, with funky sushi-bars popping up all over town. For trendier dining head to Palermo Viejo or Las Cañitas. For a touristier scene, you might want to try Puerto Madero, the recently renovated waterfront near the Centro which attracts clientele from the nearby businesses and hotels. Cabaña Las Lilas is the most famous of the bunch, with its slow-cooked steaks from their very own herd.  Before venturing out, keep in mind that Argentines, and particularly Porteños, prefer to eat late. If you dine before 10:00pm you will likely be on your own and many restaurants will not open before 8:00pm.
