Mansion Dandi Royal

Argentina > Buenos Aires > Hotels > Mansion Dandi Royal

Description
The Mansion Dandi Royal is one of the newer high-end hotels in San Telmo directly geared toward visitors wanting to live and breathe 'the seduction of tango' on their vacation. The beautiful mansion dates back to the early 1900's and its style represents a trend of the era away from the Spanish Colonial architecture and toward a more modern Art Nouveaux style.

The hotel includes three ballrooms and an 'Tango Academy' with highly trained professional teachers.

Insider Tips
While the Dandi's ballrooms are a great place to practice your tango spins, we recommend skipping the meals here. Instead, explore some of the classic restaurants in the neighborhood to grab a bite to eat.

Benefits
Tango aficionados can receive classes on-site in three fully-equipped ballrooms and have unlimited access to info on the best milongas in the city.

Walking distance to San Telmo’s Plaza Dorrego, Puerto Madero and the ecological reserve.

Swimming pool and solarium on the premises.

English spoken

Drawbacks
The hotel's strong tango-orientation, some would say to the point of cliché, means guests may miss out on other interesting aspects of the city.

Rooms
Every one of the 30 rooms here is decorated differently in a style designed to recall the 'tango ambience' of the early 1900's.

All rooms have a double bed, period-style frescos, wifi access, telephone and cable tv with 'the tango channel'. Suites feature jacuzzis. 24 hour room service is available.

Food
A typical Argentine breakfast of tea, coffee, sweet croissants and juice is included and served in one of the salons.

There is no restaurant on-site but room service is available 24 hours a day. The menu includes typical Argentine 'fast food' such as milanesas (steak sandwich) and empanadas.

Children
This hotel is oriented toward adults interested in dancing lots of tango. Children can be accommodated, but if they're not old enough to be interested in tango they may wish they were left at home.
