Restaurante Simoca

Argentina > Bariloche > Restaurants > Restaurante Simoca

Description
This restaurant serving up Northern Argentine specialties is a great option for those who won’t be making it to Salta and Jujuy but still want to discover the distinctive cuisine of the region. This little family-run place isn’t fancy but the atmosphere here is cozy. Argentine folk art, creeping vines and rows of garlic adorn the walls. The restaurant specializes in serving affordable Northern cuisine that includes typical dishes such as locro (a hearty corn stew) and humitas and tamales (cornmeal filled with meat or cheese and steamed in husks). A meal here costs about $A 25 per person.

Insider Tips
Try the tamales; they make them quite different here than in Mexico. Restaurante Simoca also has a delivery service for those cold winter nights. Credit cards not accepted.
