Description
La Hostería de la Luna, 7 kilometers outside of town, is an old favorite for summertime visitors to Bariloche thanks to the hotel’s location right next to Playa Bonita, the nicer of two public lakeside beaches in Bariloche. All of the rustic style wood-paneled rooms have views overlooking the lake. The two-tiered lobby has a warm lounge area with a vaulted ceiling, wood paneling, a cozy fireplace and spectacular views.
Insider Tips
Check out the lobby floor made of wooden bricks. Now that’s rustic!
Benefits
- Great location near Playa Bonita
- Free parking
Drawbacks
- There may not always be someone around who speaks English
- The hotel is located outside of the town of Bariloche so you will want a car to get around
Rooms
The rooms here are traditionally decorated and some could definitely use new upholstery and better artwork, but the view is what’s important here. The wood-paneled rooms come equipped with a TV and a standard bathroom with a bidet. The larger rooms have loft spaces for extra guests. Be sure to ask for one of the rooms facing the lake, otherwise you could get stuck with a view of the road. Double room with breakfast and dinner A$190. Triple $ 240/ Quadruple $300
Food
A stay at La Hostería de la Luna comes with a satisfying ‘American style’ breakfast and in the late afternoons a traditional tea with delicious homemade cakes. The restaurant, La Rueda, serves up typical Patagonian fare for lunch and dinner.
