1 Week
 

If it’s your first time in Peru, then a visit to Machu Picchu is a must. If you have only one week, you are best to head straight down to the Sacred Valley and explore the Andean culture of the Inca’s ancestors. Try to arrange your international flight so that you arrive in Lima first thing in the morning so that you can catch an early flight to Cusco. From Cusco, take a taxi (or arrange pickup with your hotel) straight out to the Sacred Valley, where the altitude is a bit lower and acclimatizing will be less painful. More...


2 Weeks
 

2 Weeks will allow you to explore many of the highlights of Southern Peru. Plan to spend a day touring cultural Lima, the modern capital of Peru. On day two, hop on a bus to the Southern Coast where nature lovers can explore the Paracas Reserve, archaeology buffs can revel at the baffling Nazca Lines, and beach bums can enjoy the Pacific breeze. You will need two full days in the area before returning back to Lima on day five for a flight to Cusco. More...

4 Weeks should give you ample time to explore the wide variety that Peru has to offer. Your journey will begin in Lima, where most international flights enter the country.
