About Morro de São Paulo

Morro de São Paulo is an enormous beach playground, lined with pousadas, restaurants and tourist shops. It is indeed a paradise with gorgeous beaches overlooking the Atlantic. The village is the first thing you come across when you arrive at the port. It has one main street that is filled with shops and a few internet cafes. This road leads you out through the palm trees to Morro de São Paulo's beautiful sandy beaches. There are no cars on the island of Morro de São Paulo, adding to its charm and peacefulness, so count on your feet to take you where you want to go though you can count on the porter/guides to carry your luggage to and from your pousada.

Best Time to go

Any time is a great time to visit Morro de São Paulo with average temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius. However, the rainy season is from May - July and rains appear quickly and come down heavily. Morro de São Paulo is a favorite August vacation spot for Europeans, especially Italians. The good news is that the storms rarely last more than a few hours and you can head back out to enjoy the sunshine again. Note that during December - March the crowds can become unbearable. In addition, many hotels close for maintenance and renovation in the low season (after Easter to around July 15th).
