About Lençois
Lençois is a small town that serves as the gateway to Chapada Diamantina National Park, named for the diamonds that were discovered here in the 19th century. The town of Lençois itself is beautifully set amidst the lush, forested surroundings. It has maintained a quaint feeling with its cobblestoned main roads and surrounding dirt roads leading to natural wonders. With the recent explosion of tourism in Lençois, there has been an effort to revitalize the architecture and there are significant renovations in the works with buildings being restored.
Best Time to go
High season in Lençois is from mid-December through March. January and February, however, are the rainiest months.
