Don't assume that because the sign says walk, you have the right of way. Drivers in Argentina generally think otherwise. Always wait to see what traffic is doing before crossing the road.
Be sure to take a Radiotaxi in Buenos Aires as there is a bit of a 'taxi mafia' in the city which can make it very dangerous and costly to go with any of the others. Radiotaxis in Argentina do not charge for picking up a fare at a fixed address and most hotels and restaurants will be happy to call one for you. However if you do decide to hail a taxi from the street, make sure that it indicates that it belongs to one of the Radiotaxi companies and that the driver's identification tag is displayed. Always ensure that the meter is running and that it has been restarted when you get in the taxi to avoid any issues.
